At Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool Trust, you’ll play a key part in the day-to-day operation of a busy, community-focused facility—supporting the Duty Manager, leading teams on shift, and helping deliver a safe, high-quality experience across the pool, fitness suite, and wider facility.

+ What you'll be doing (a typical shift)

You’ll be hands-on across all areas of the facility:

      +  Supervise the pool hall, changing rooms, and fitness suite

      +  Support the Duty Manager in running the facility day-to-day

      +  Lead Sports Assistants, apprentices, and volunteers on shift

      +  Deliver swimming lessons and support programme delivery

      +  Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and customer service

      +  Respond to incidents and support safe facility operations

      +  Assist with pool plant checks and basic maintenance tasks

      +  Promote activities and engage with customers

+ Qualifications & experience 

      +  NPLQ (or equivalent) – Training can be provided for the right candiate

      +  Pool Plant Operator qualification – desirable (training can be provided)

      +  Level 1 / 2 (Swim England) or Award / Certificate Award (STA) Teaching Swimming

      +  Previous experience in a leisure, sport, or customer-facing environment

      +  Experience leading teams is highly desirable

      +  Level Fitness Instructor

Salary

      +  Up to £28,500 per year (dependent on experience and qualifications)

      +  Opportunities for salary progressions linked to development and performance 

Working pattern

      +  Full-time position (Average of 40 hours per week)

      +  Shift-based role including early mornings, evening, and weekends

      +  3-week rolling rota to provide structure and work-life balance

      +  Typical shifts:

           -  Week 1 - 0630 start Monday - Thursday

           -  Week 2 - Tuesday, Thursday 7 Friday plus Saturday & Sunday

           -  Week 3 - 1330 or 1430 start, 2230 finish Monday - Firday
