At Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool Trust, you’ll take ownership of a busy, community-driven facility at the heart of the town—leading teams, maintaining the highest safety standards, and delivering a service that genuinely matters.

+ What you'll be doing (a typical shift)
As Duty Manager, you’ll take full operational control of the facility:
+ Open and close the building, ensuring everything is safe, clean, and ready
+ Lead and manage lifeguards and front-of-house staff
+ Oversee pool safety, plant operations, and compliance with procedures
+ Respond to incidents and emergencies with confidence and control
+ Manage staff performance and support ongoing training
+ Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally
+ Ensure the facility meets all operational, safety, and service standards
+ What we're looking for
We’re looking for someone who can lead from the front and take ownership.
You might already be a Duty Manager, or you could be a Senior Lifeguard or team leader ready to step up.
+ Strong leadership and decision-making skills
+ Calm under pressure and confident managing incidents
+ High standards and attention to detail
+ Excellent communication and people skills
+ A proactive, hands-on approach
+ Qualifications & experience
+ NPLQ (or equivalent)
+ Pool Plant Operator qualification – desirable
+ Level 1 / 2 (Swim England) or Award / Certificate Award (STA) Teaching Swimming
+ RLSS Trainer Assessor is highly desirable
+ Previous experience in a leisure, sport, or customer-facing environment
+ Experience leading teams is highly desirable

Salary
+ Up to £33,500 per year (dependent on experience and qualifications)
+ Opportunities for salary progressions linked to development and performance
Working pattern
+ Full-time position (Average of 40 hours per week)
+ Shift-based role including early mornings, evening, and weekends
+ 3-week rolling rota to provide structure and work-life balance
+ Typical shifts:
- Week 1 - 0630 start Monday - Friday
- Week 2 - Office Hours on Tuesday & Wednesday plus a full weekend
- Week 3 - 1330 or 1430 start, 2230 finish Monday - Firday
