Swimming Development Programme

The Tadcaster Swimming Pool Trust Swimming Development Programme continues to go from strength to strength. We now have lessons in place from Aquatots (3 to 4 year olds) and Stages 1 – 7, Junior Fit Club and Development Groups for children in mainstream education. We also offer swimming lessons to Adults of any age, level and ability

The further development of a lesson database now allows us to give all parents an Individual Assessment Report on the progress their child has made.  This also enables parents to see what their child has to work on in order to achieve the grade they are working towards.

The introduction of the Individual Assessment has also raised the awareness of all teachers who are now more answerable for their continual assessments.

As a further benefit, from September 2011, we are offering a "2 free swims" cards to all pupils enrolling on lessons.  These can be used during any public swimming sessions and will hopefully encourage parents to bring their children swimming outside of lesson times.

Following the completion of the Junior Fit Club, pupils are invited to join the Development Groups which offer further work on stroke technique, starts and turns and an introduction to competitive swimming.

Further information can be obtained by ringing Fiona Garnett, Assistant Manager on 01937 833001 or by e-mail at fiona@tadcasterpool.org.uk.

Enrolment Procedure

To enrol on the lesson programme you have to complete a student record card, available from reception. This will put you on our waiting list for the grade specified and you will then be contacted when a place becomes available. If your child swims elsewhere, you can keep us informed of progress, so that we can place them in the correct level.

Alternatively, look out for holiday courses which are booked on a first come first served basis. The programme for holidays is normally available 2 weeks prior to the end of a school term. For holiday courses you can book over the phone, but we will require a debit / credit card payment at the time of booking.

Enrolment on lessons can take place at any age but the child must be at least 4 years old at the start of the course. Aquatots is a session for parents and toddlers aged 3 - 4 years.
