At Tadcaster Community Swimming Pool Trust, you’ll gain hands-on experience across a busy leisure facility while working towards industry-recognised qualifications.

You’ll be part of the team from day one—learning, developing, and building the skills needed to progress into roles such as Sports Supervisor and Duty Manager.

+ What you'll be doing (as you develop)

You’ll gradually build skills across all areas of the facility:

      +  Support the day-to-day running of the pool and fitness areas

      +  Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment

      +  Work alongside lifeguards and supervisors on poolside

      +  Support swimming lessons and fitness sessions

      +  Engage with customers and provide great service

      +  Learn key operational procedures and safety standards

👉 As you qualify, you’ll take on more responsibility including lifeguarding, teaching, and leading sessions.

+ What you'll gain (qualifications & training)

As part of your apprenticeship, you’ll work towards:

      +  NVQ Level 2 in Active Leisure (or equivalent apprenticeship standard)

      +  National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

      +  Swimming Teacher qualifications (Level 1 & 2)

Additional support may include:

      +  Funding towards driving lessons (where applicable)

Salary

      +  Year 1 £16,640 per year rasing year 2 depending on qualfiication and age

      +  Paid position with structured development

Working pattern

      +  Full-time position (Average of 40 hours per week)

      +  Shift-based role including early mornings, evening, and weekends

      +  3-week rolling rota to provide structure and work-life balance

      +  Typical shifts:

           -  Week 1 - 0630 start Monday - Thursday

           -  Week 2 - Tuesday, Thursday 7 Friday plus Saturday & Sunday

           -  Week 3 - 1330 or 1430 start, 2230 finish Monday - Firday
